Kaylen Shae is a pop singer-songwriter, producer, and engineer from Northern California. Her journey began with a lifelong passion for music, ignited by early piano and voice lessons at the age of seven. Taking after pop icons such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Adele, and Gwen Stefani who greatly inspired her, Kaylen found her own artistic voice at ten years old when she first began songwriting.
Throughout middle school and high school, Kaylen expanded her musical talents, learning to play guitar and ukulele. During the pandemic, she began experimenting with music production, recording her original songs from the only studio she had access to, her bedroom. Today her musical influences extend beyond contemporary pop, finding inspiration in the jazz stylings of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Louis Prima, and Billie Holiday, which greatly impact her musical sound. After high school, Kaylen’s passion for music lead her to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she now studies Music Production & Engineering, honing her skills as both an artist and a producer.
To this day Kaylen has remained captivated by music's inherent universal nature – its ability to transcend personal narratives and become a shared language. Much like how her lyrics allow her to learn more about herself, Kaylen strives to be a vessel for her listeners own self discovery. She's fascinated by how listeners can weave their own stories into the fabric of a song, how sonic textures can transport them to specific moments in time, and how lyrics that chronicle an artist's personal struggles can unexpectedly mirror a listener's own deepest emotions.
Since the summer of 2022 Kaylen has played over 40 shows from the San Francisco Bay to Boston Massachusetts. In August of 2024 she released her debut EP, Puppy Love, a collection of tracks reflecting the innocence and emotional intensity of young love and the journey of growing up.
